Lie to Me Episodes 7 and 8

Sorry about the late post...helping my church move to a new location this week. Anyhow, enjoy the episodes!
Episode 7: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/37016/5
Episode 8:http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/37061/5

@ 5/31/11: Quick Comment on Episode 8...hopeful quickly turns to heartbreaking. Ugh...heart-squeeze. The up side is that with the lie cleared up between Ah-Jung and So-Ran, perhaps they can actually learn to be good friends. I love how the two "frenemies" face each other in their worst moment of loneliness/despair and come clean before each other.
All I'm waiting for now is for Sang-Hee to join the Ah-Jung/Ki-Joon love triangle since it looks like he's no longer in love with Yoon-Joo. Ah, next week's episodes are going to be quite emotional!

City Hunter Episode 1 and 2

Hi everyone,
I had originally planned on recapping City Hunter, but work just took on a whole new dimension of "busy." So...I wont' be able to recap or watch today's episode as planned.  :(  I'm posting the link to the episode, though, in case some of you want to watch.

49 Days Episodes 19 and 20

Episode 19: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36512/5
Episode 20: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36538/12

@8:42pm: Ji-Hyun is scheduled to die?!! Any bets that she's the person who rides the "elevator" with Yi Soo and Yi Kyung and Kang end up happily together?

Thoughts on Episode 20:
It's been a while since I've seen a drama that had me choking with unshed tears. Although I only saw the last few episodes of this drama, I enjoyed how the writer paced everything. It makes sense that Ji-Hyun dies halfway through the episode so as to leave the other half for closure and such. Yi Kyung ending up at Ji-Hyun's lost older sister was a nice (but too convenient?) twist that had me screaming Charles Dickens. LOL. It specifically made me think of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, a story in which everyone is somehow connected to each other in the end, tying all the loose ends neatly.
And as cheesy as this may sound, I liked how In-Jung and Min-Ho are working towards returning to their old "nice" selves. There was definitely a part of me that was hoping In-Jung was the third tear; I refused to believe that she could have been friends with Ji-Hyun for that long and not have genuinely loved Ji-Hyun. All in all, the drama was satisfying to watch...and yes, despite my earlier suspicions that Yi-Kyung and Kang were going to end up together, I appreciated that the drama didn't try to go down that route and simply left them as friends who are helping each other get through mourning of loved ones and life in general.  The end scene--two trees for Ji-Hyun and Yi-Soo--does a nice job of symbolically linking the two in death and the remaining two (Yi-Kyung and Kang) in life and how the four impacted each other.

Best Love (aka The Greatest Love) Episodes 5 and 6

Episode 5: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36506/5
Episode 6:http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36540/5

@8:44pm: I liked the "Cow" mustache better!  I think it's going to take me a while to get used to the clean-shaven face...loving the snappy dialogue!

Thoughts on Episode 6: I loved episode 5 and found many worthwhile moments, but episode 6 left me a bit cold. I'm still liking the comedy but finding Ae-Jung's bad luck starting to annoy me: Dok Go-Jin idiotically putting the pen in the fish food for Ae-Jung to find, Ae-Jung stupidly refilling the fish food so Dok Go-Jin thinks she hasn't been to his house to feed his fish, Dok Go-Jin thinking that she lied and bought a replacement pen for Yoon Pil-Joo, her former manager telling her new boss his twisted version of how she caused the KBSN breakup, etc. Then there's her bumbling brother who hurts more than helps her in her showbiz comeback/climb.
I hope my annoyance is temporary and disappears by episode 7 because part of episode 6 was spent yelling in exasperation at the show as one or another character proceeded to do something stupid...and...I really want to like this drama!
And is it just me or are some of you starting to feel sorry for Pil-Joo, too? He's got so much more potential but is so far relegated to playing the "comforter"...I'd love to see him as her Knight in Shining Armor who saves her from distress but episode 6 is making me feel sorry for him rather than relieved that he's come to her rescue.  :(

49 Days Episodes 17 and 18

Episode 17: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36225/5
Episode 18: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36267/5

I noticed there were trailers of City Hunter at the end of these two episodes as 49 Days nears its end.  The new show looks like it's a keeper from the trailer; I just hope the actual drama lives up to its trailer.  :)

Best Love (aka The Greatest Love) Episodes 3 and 4

Hi everyone,
Below are the links to the unsubtitled episodes:

Episode 3: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36230/11
Episode 4: http://joonmedia.tv/videos/play/36266/5

Speaking of episode 4, did anyone else notice and die laughing over the subtle (or not so subtle) appearance of Hyun Bin's Secret Garden sparkly track suits on Ae-Jung's dad and nephew? I love how the writers are including so many references to previous dramas in this show.  LOL Let's not even get into the "Panty! Leave me my panty!" remark by Do Go-Jin. *Sigh* So many hilarious moments...even my mother laughed over the episode.

Ready. Set. Go....

So it's now officially May, the month that promises to blitz us with some very tempting Korean dramas.

...So many tantalizing dramas and so little time....

Alas, there is only so much time for Korean drama viewing, right?  If I want to remain sane, I'm going to have to be very VERY selective with which drama I watch and, more importantly, which drama I choose to recap. Aside from Lie to Me (loved the previous dramas I saw of Kang Ji Hwan: Capital Scandal and Coffee House) and City Hunter (staying interested due to the SungKyunKwan Scandal connection), I keep hearing about Baby-faced Beauty (Jang Nara finally returns for a Korean drama...last one I saw was Wedding, which I strangely loved). I suppose if all else fails, I can choose to recap one and then simply comment/rant/vent about the other ones. LOL

Lie to Me is scheduled to hit the air waves beginning May 9th (this coming Monday!) and will be a Monday-Tuesday drama. This coincides perfectly with my original plans to watch City Hunter, which is scheduled to start May 25th as a Wednesday-Thursday drama.

I don't think I've ever tried watching two dramas simultaneously, much less try to recap one while watching two...we'll have to see how my schedule handles this double dose of kdramas.

In the meanwhile, I hope you're all staying healthy and cool as we near the summer season. Happy early Mother's Day to all you mothers!

Oh, before I sign off for the night, two things I want to mention/ask:
1. Anyone watching We Are Married's Lee Jang Woo and Ham Eun Jung couple segments?  I started watching their segment on WM...too cute! I ignore the two other couples and only watch Woo-Jung. LOL
2. I'm not sure if I'll be watching Good Bye Miss Ripley...I haven't heard that much about it.  Let me know if it's worth a view once it airs.  *Sigh* I'm such a glutton for craziness, huh?
